Does anyone know of a walkthrough for this game I,m half way through and don,t know if I,ve hit a glitch with trying to use the grinder twice.

Can't find a proper walkthrough.
I am stuck at the combination lock for now

I have the reward from Winnie, and a bucket of sand, among other things.
I'm guessing that I need to use the sand to manufacture glass in the blacksmith shop to repair the spectacles. Am I way off course in my thinking?
