Quest's listboxes...

paul_one
Hiya all,

This is specifically aimed at Alex - but if anyone else wants to jump in here that's fine!

Alex: What control do you use as the listboxes in Quest (specifically the multi-column listboxes). I have been looking at the MSFlexGrid but it looks wrong (with a double border or something) which doesn't suit it.

I'll probably end up using it but I was just wondering if you had found a control which was (of course free  and...) usable.

Hi C W

Looks suspiciously like the Microsoft LISTVIEW control used in REPORT view to me.

I think it in MS common controls 2 (VB6).

How come I cant post when I'm logged in, but can as a guest?

That's bizarre!

OK Alex -

Why does this ##### forum tell me my user name is already taken and not let me post replies when I'm logged in and trying to post a reply, but will let me post as a guest?

Strange. Try logging out and logging in again using the links at the top right. Make sure you have enabled cookies.

When are you getting a username taken message? That should only happen if you tried registering with your username, not when logging in. What error message do you get when trying to post a reply?

The listboxes are indeed the usual MS ListView controls in Report mode.

wierd - I show as the only registered user "logged in", yet when I click 'reply' the first box on the form given is "username"
if I put my username in - that's when it tells me the name is already in use.

Alex
It sounds like either you're being logged out, or something is causing you to see a cached version of the page.

Are you using your AOL connection? I've had a browse of the phpBB forums and it seems AOL has a habit of causing these kinds of problems. Sometimes the problems happen when browsing using the internal AOL browser, and don't occur when using IE outside of AOL, so perhaps give that a try.

MaDbRiT
Hmm!

Obviously it is an issue with using the AOL browser - odd as it is only IE6 in slightly modified form.

Still, as long as it works one way or another

Yeah, I looked around and found that listview - am using it too, as it seems very nice : )
Could be a bit simpler though.

Glad to see you worked around your problem MaDbRiT!
