Empires of the Medieval age Community

This is a topic for fans of the game Empires of the Medieval age where we can discuss the game and we will post questions when we need your input to dteremine how the story should go and what should happen ect, also here we can enjoy our rivalries as Tulgians and Purist and just have a good time in general!

**plus I'm curious to see who actually follows the game and it's progress

There's a battle between The Pure and Tulgian soldiers! Purist! You help is needed! You're standing in a small forest clearing, you've been placed in command of a group of four Purist soldiers and there are 12 Tulgian spearmen approaching from the forest straight ahead! How do would you use your men to defeat the Tulgians?

**best answers will be tested, and if they work, they will be added to the story!

Based off of my previous post on another thread...

Questions to consider:

  1. Have we been spotted?
  2. What do I have at my disposal? Are we properly armed? If so, with what?
  3. Are they on horseback?
  4. Are they in a straight line?
  5. Is it nighttime or daytime?
  6. What are the relationships currently between the two groups? Tense? Cease fire? Kill on sight?
  7. What's behind me?

Regardless (what comes to mind):

  1. scatter two Purists perpendicular to the line of their approach line and wait
  2. give a rousing "Braveheart-type" speech and charge into battle
  3. get their attention and 'escort' them to a better location
  4. scatter two Purists perpendicular to the line of their approach and send them behind the forces
  5. flush out wild game as a distraction
  6. run back to base camp to gather troops
  7. chop the head off of my weakest Purist companion and mount it on a stake... drink his blood and put on a show of utter monstronsity in hopes of scaring them off?
  8. pretend to be from a travelling circus and wait for them to let down their guard
  9. a combination of the above?

My point is... if I were to write a gamebook (which I don't think I will ever do because I am not a fan), I would make a page for every scenario I could think of. It's makes the game so much more interesting (and admittedly more difficult to write). But, the more thought the author puts in, the better the game will be.

  1. Yes you have, they are charging you with the intent to kill you and your men
  2. Your men are equipped with standard iron armor and iron short swords, you have a superior iron sword and slightly superior armor
  3. They are basic infantry spearmen, they are on foot
  4. They are in a straight line
  5. Its day time (afternoon)
  6. Tulgians are the people who the purist are rebelling against
  7. Behind you is the tunnel that leads to The Pure's secret base, the Tulgians must not be allowed in!

Plus this is just something that i hope will keep people interested in my game, like basically an experiment
