Is a demo intro like this too tacky?

Okay so it might be a bit of self indulgence, but I can't think of any other way of thanking some of you guys for helping me over the last few months. I have learned a hell of a lot with code and I have limited myself to 12hrs a week so I can work on my story and not get too many errors or mental blocks.

Music is my main hobby and true love so here it is. Feel free to delete if I am out of order.

Anyway here it is:

That is pretty cool. I like it.

Music is your main hobby, huh? You have a soundcloud page? Just curious. Feel free to PM me!

Thank you XanMag.

It is indeed a main hobby. I was lucky enough to have had a father who was a composer with a degree in music.

I had a soundcloud account a few years ago, but gave it up when they changed storage policies. I only do private stuff now and a few bits and pieces, arthritis has enforced some limitations upon me, but hey! I still get around :D

I thought it was great. Thought about this awhile ago but i'm not that talented.

Thank you Forgewright. I think most of us have a hidden musical talent locked in us somewhere. Incidentally, all of the video was created with Open Source and free (legal) software plugins.

K.V.

That is pretty cool!

(Thanks for the thanks, by the way.)

What all programs did you use to make that?

Hey K.V and thanks - Credit where it is due and all that :D

(Please delete if not allowed)

The software I used:

Blackmagic Design DaVinci Resolve (Video Editing)
Open Shot Video editing (Open Source Video Editor always being updated)
L.M.M.S - D.A.W (Music Creation)
Togu Audio Line (Free VST music plugins) - *** There are many free or open source VST/VSTi plugins available
Open Broadcaster Software (Screen Recording/Streaming)
L'Or coffee and PG Tips

Apart from the Tea and Coffee, all of the above are either free (some limited but fully functional) or Open Source.

I like it a lot. The space part was especially cool, how'd you do the fancy thing :D LOL! As for the music, you have a talent although it seems slightly repetitive about ...45 seconds in. Maybe having a build up or crescendo (not a musician) that makes the loud DO DO D DO DO disappear? Just a suggestion!

Thanks Anonynn - The truth about the part is that I only wrote an initial 'hook' for a 25sec snippet and the video was a bit longer lol - I am from the era of 'Jarre' so I know exactly what you mean. Thanks for the feed back.

Anytime! If you need help with anything else, or feedback let us know. We're all very happy to help!
