Will the new Quest be hard to learn?

Lucy
How much learning will be involved in going to the new 4.0 version of Quest? I am in the process of learning the current version, and I don't want to do all this work only to have to start again!

I don't think there's going to be much 'change' to 4.0.
It'll be largely additional things to learn from ASL350.

But I'll let Alex say how much different it is.

Quest 4.0 will be much like Quest 3.x in the way it fundamentally works, so there won't be much re-learning of the basic stuff.

It will include a tutorial which should make learning it much easier.

I wouldn't hold off trying to learn Quest 3.x though, as the new version won't be available for several months.

Has the QDK interface been given an update or is it still basically the same?

Alex
It's going to be based around a treeview, so will be a fairly substantial overhaul with the aim of reducing the number of pop-up windows you need to edit things. The basic principles of editing will be the same though - it'll just be quicker.

Will it be compatable with the older verion? I'm smack dab in the middle of a killer game now.. Will I have to convert it or something?

Cryophile
As said in the other post, it is backward-compatible.

Nice...

Will the new Quest be better than the other options? I have read various things where some people say that ADRIFT is easier to use, but I don't want to keep jumping from one to the other. I'd rather master one of them and just use that.
