ORPG Engine

Elexxorine
Some of you may remember my game 'HavenHold'. The plot and such has died up and at least for the moment I'll be going no further with it, instead I'll be turning it into an engine, so others can easily make online rpg's like my game. It will be custumisable and I'll be wanting feedback and suggestions from everyone as to want they want in it and how to improve it. Here's a list of the stuff so far:

Current Features:
* Register new accounts.
* Save characters.
* Shops.
* Inventory.
* Equipable items.
* Time.
* Alignment.
* Dynamic player descriptions.
* Customisable appearances.
* Shapeshifting!
* NPCs that can follow you.
* Moving NPCs and monsters.
* Stats.
* Battle system.
* Leveling.
* Object / Monster spawning.
* Weight and encumberment.

To add:
* skills!
* weather system.
* Fast travel
* Quest log (/journal).
* Class quests.
* Dungeons.
* Laws and a bounty system.
* MAGIC!
* Trading between players.

If anyone can think of anything more they'd want in it or wishes to help, etc. just let me know. :P Once I've got something good I'll start writing up instructions on how to use it, and be making a QDK interface too!

I think that sounds like a great idea!

* MAGIC!

What RPG would be complete without magic?

Elexxorine
None? And thanks for the support. If anybody has requests for specific ways to do things as I already have a practically finished battle code, but I could make another if some-one wantes something different. I'll be doing this over the summer, I've still got school for 4 weeks and an OU course to do :P

GameBoy
Finish the game.

Hmmm... another over-ambitious game of epic proportions that's now been abandoned despite constant assurances from the author that it would definitely, definitely, definitely be released.

I bet no one saw that coming... :lol:

Oops. Double post.

Elexxorine
Thanks. I'm sorry that I have real life issues at the moment like applying for universities and doing A-levels that I don't have enough time or energy to put into the creative process of making an 'epic' game yet am still willing to make version of it available as an engine so that others can make their games easiesr, and have said that I will return to it later in the future when I have more time to do finish the actual game.

Thanks for this, I've been away awhile and just coming back to Quest. Good luck with your studies.

Elexxorine
Thanks. :)

Any update on this Rpg Engine of yours? :)

Elexxorine
It's coming along. I'm working on it parallel to HavenHold as the game and engine are designed for each other. I don't have as much time as I'd like to work on it, but I am trying. The HavenHold 1.6 alpha release will show off what the engine can do. I'm gonig to be changing the why battles are done though. Once it's all good and nice I'll release the engine. THe feature list is the same as HavenHold's. What features are you interested in seeing, as if you want a certain feature I can make sure to put it in for you. I'll be sure to notify everyone when I make the engine freely available.
