Error codes

codingmasters
is it possible to make our own error codes like we could in QBasic?
This would be a good idea for future versions of Quest if it not around now

yes, this is possible by going into QDK, going to the Text menu and going to Standard Messages.

codingmasters
I know about the Standard messages, but what happens if a numeric variable goes out of range, for example. Quest will display an error and close, but with our error codes, we could fix the prob

GameBoy
why should the script go out of range in the first place?

codingmasters
Maybe the player entered, for example, a name that was too long for Quest to handle. Perhaps the Health level might go out of range

That's how/why

If you get run-time errors, even when it's your fault, please let me know and send me some example code. Quest should be able to tolerate errors in ASL and report its own messages rather than falling over.
