is there a possibilty to overwrite all text that is used by default?
My indention is to write a module that contains solely german input and output.

Yes. You can override Quest's standard error messages using "error" tags in the "define game" block, or if you're using QDK, by going to the Text menu and selecting Standard Messages.

For the player to be able to type in German commands, you just need to set the relevant commands up, using "command" tags if you're coding by hand, or in QDK by going to Game > Properties > Global Settings > Edit Custom Player Commands.

Quest 3.5, which will be available soon, will provide a way for you to translate Quest's menus and windows as well.

If you can come up with a German translation of Quest, I'd be really interested to see it.

I have a german translation ready.

.Some strings are missing, they are not in the english.ldf.
.The Quest interpreter does not like umlauts and will crash, so i used ae, ue and oe. The GUI has no problems with umlauts.
.Some grammar is not correct.

If some wish to test the translation, give me your email adress and i send the file to you.

It's strange your game crashes with ö etc., because it works fine for me with french accented letters.
Can you send me your german file so I can test it ? -> [email protected]

I tried your german.ldf file, and nothing wrong happened in the Quest interpreter. I only used basic commands, and the test game was in english, but what was the problem for you exactly ? When did it happened ? (for which command)
Maybe it's related to your MSwindows version / OS ? Mine is Win98SE, using a Amd K6/2 30 Mhz, and 200 Mb ram.
