I would like to have some random text appear, either when someone enters a "room" of when they look at an "object".

Example would be walking down a busy street...

enter the "room" and within the description of the room you have the random text of "You see a group of punks" or "You see some police officers" or "you see some trolls" etc. It would be different each time you enter the same room.

Either that of you have an "object" with the name pedestrians, and when you look at it it gives random responses as above.

Ideally I would like something for the first part, but failing with that could work with the second option.

That's not too difficult. Just make the room description a script instead of text, and make a script that chooses one of those sentences at random, then appends the rest of the description to it.
