No sounds!

m4u
Hi guys, i published a game with sounds in mp3, private mode, but its not working. What should I do?

sgreig
The only thing I can think of is that the game is referencing the MP3 files from somewhere on your computer, rather than from inside the Quest game file so it can't play them.

Is this your IFComp entry? The sounds work for me. What browser are you using?

m4u
Yes, it is! I'm using Firefox...

By the way, I'm the only representative for Quest. I guess most of the people knew that one is eaten alive by the reviewers in these competitions! lol

Anyway, I'm having fun and the good thing is that we have updates, so i'm improving it.

I was working on an entry for IFcomp but didn't have time to finish it in time, sadly. I'll finish the game though.

So.... Do i have to report a bug about this firefox issue?

Alex
Yes please if there's a consistent repro. Please post it on the Issue Tracker at http://quest.codeplex.com.

Sounds are often a bit unreliable in web browsers, though I'm planning to look at SoundJS in the near future which should resolve a lot of these problems and make it possible to introduce some nice features such as different sounds playing at the same time.
