Can I publish it on teh web somehow, to share it with my students?

or do I have to make them all install the Quest porgram to run the .aslx file?

You can upload it to the Quest site. In the Tools menu, there is a Publish option. This will create a new file that ends .quest in a folder called output. Then sign into the http://textadventures.co.uk/ website (you need an account set up there as well as the forum I think, but you can use the same name). Right at the bottom is a "Submit a game" link; remember to upload the .quest file!
