[SOLVED, kind of] .gif play just once?

XanMag
How can you make a .gif just play one time through?

OurJud
A quick scour of that question on the net suggests most creators have an option to uncheck a 'loop' option.

I can't advice more than that, as I've never had any dealings with animated gifs.

For those that stumble here...

I used the free gifmaker.me to loop it one time. It doesn't play out like I really wanted but the animation is there.

I just figured this out accidentally (because I used a .gif I wanted to play forever). When I make .gifs in GIMP (2.8.14) I always have the option to uncheck the "loop forever" option. It always used to be that whenever I'd test it out it would still loop forever. I just now discovered that a .gif with the option unchecked will loop forever anyway if played in something like Windows Media Player, but in Quest it will only play once and stop on the last frame.
