A Question.

METALGod32
I Was wondering, instead of making a game with Quest, is it possible to make a intelligent Agent/Bot?

if you guys don't know what i mean go to this website and check it out.
http://pandorabots.com/pandora/talk?botid=c510d770ee35050d

ask the bot questions etc, anyways the bot would need a memory...so for example...if you say: my name is METALGod then the bot from now on will remember that, or: i am 32 years old, then he can remember that to...plus make it so he'll gossip with you intelligently like a Mirc Bot...whatever is stored in his brain :)

anyways is this possible?:)

Thanks.

Actually, yes. Probably not in the same layout as that bot, but a different kind. Strangely enough, I had the same idea, and a while ago I started to work on one, but I abandoned it in middle, for some reason. I still have the beginning of it, though. If you want, I can post the code and you can try it out to see what it's like...

OK, i looked at the website, and typed "hello". It replied with "Hello, how are you?". I answered with "fine. How are you?" He said " Glad to hear it. What's new? Fair to partly cloudy." So that put's my trust in him down to almost zero.

But the, considering the fact that I just saw I, Robot 4 times on DVD, and being able to relate to Will's character (Detective Del Spooner), I'd be likely to take that stance. I trust AI about as far as I can throw it.

As for being able to do something like that, well, that's a different story. It would be hard, very hard. So, I say, good luck, but you'll be sitting at your computer for weeks, probably months, trying to achieve anything close to something like Sonny from I, Robot.
