I promised my boss a working copy of a project which was 100% made on the demo version of QDK, which is only 8 days old. It was going great until today, when, trying to open my project, it gave me an error message: Run-Time Error '5': Invalid Procedeur Call or Argument. After that it exits the program. I've tried restarting. I've tried other documents and they open just fine.

I need this project, I can't start it over, I only have 2 or 3 days until it's due, and i'll be fired if I mess this up: It was the only chance he was giving me after another incident where I couldn't get a project done on time. For the love of all that is good and holy, What can I do to recover this file?!?!?!?

Open the asl file in a notepad and copy all the script. Then paste it in here under code brackets and I'll look at it, you could also email it to me, but I tend to pay less attention that way. Also, mention the last thing you edited before it started doing this.

Ok, well, I played the game(as much as possible, not much of it works and alot of commands aren't finished) to check the error messages quest was displaying. It was mostly having errors caused because of the piece of the variable "Hawkarrousal". I cut this section out of the asl file and tried to load it in QDK and it loaded up perfectly without the error.

So open up your asl file in notepad, back it up then select from the beginning of the line...

to the end of the line...

delete that section of code, save the file, and attempt to open it with QDK once again. Should work fine.

1. Do I need to reprogam the variable, or can I fix something in the code to make it run?

2. What exactly went wrong, so I don't do it again?

It's very stange, I tried to isolate several parts of your variable and turn it so something very simple, but it still crashes. In comparision to other similar variable, it should work, so I guess other parts of your code are interfering with this variable so it makes it crash. I can't help you more, but by isolating all that is related to hawkarrousal you may find what is wrong, without reprograming all the variable. Btw if something else is wrong, as I expect, rewriting again the variable won't help, it may crash again.
