Since users of QQ are not able to post anything on public forums without fear of having their posts removed or their security being threatened, organizing mass protests is almost impossible. \n\nIn China the digital leaders are the government officials. With officials deleting people’s posts it makes it hard for anything to be done digitally or become digital leaders. Erik Qualman’s S.T.A.M.P. is still applicable to any Chinese citizens plight against the government but, passion and actions can only do so much when they are being undermined by an all seeing entity.\n\n[[Return|Begin]]\n

As social media becomes more and more integrated in today's society by way of news, culture and politics, the way in which it is regulated developes and changes over time. The way Twitter reacted by taking the Turkish peoples side can relate to the Derek Siver’s video “Starting a Movement”. In order to take charge of a situation you need to stand up for something. By giving the Turkish people ways around the ban and using hash tags in order to get the Turkish people’s views on the situation, the people were given hope and a voice to stand up to their government and start a movement.\n\n[[Return|Begin]]
