[[What Else Happens?->Attend Rugby Game for Article on Jack White]]
[[Get Started on Jack White Article]]As Jack White and teammates talk, a few students are standing by. One of these students is junior art major, Mike Green and his friend. Mike over hears Jack inform his teammates that, "he is following in his brothers footsteps".
Mike Green then passes this information off to Dave Loughlin who then passes the information to the News Editor of the FairView Forum, Sarah Coiler, and Editor, Beth Haggardy.
[[Get Started on Jack White Article]]
From the Rugby game on Saturday, statistics and game coverage will not be enough for the Jack White Profile. A newsworthy quote from a reliable source makes for a more objective article.
[[Go to headcoache's office]]
[[Email headcoach]]Upon the vist to the headcoach of the rugby team's office, he gives you a great newsworthy quote:
"Jack has always been the kind of kid who is willing to learn yet willing to take leadership. He's always there for other players on and off the field," said Jim Stellwater, headcoach of the FairView Universtiy rugby team.
[[Start Preview of Article]]The coach has yet to respond to the email. It is probably best to stop by during office hours.
[[Go to office during office hours->Go to headcoaches office]]With a great starting quote, and the notes and statistics from the game on Saturday, this is enough information to write and finish a preview article.

[[Read Editor-in-Chief reply email]]Beth Haggardy edits the Jack White article. The feedback on the article was great just a few AP style errors in the following sentence.
"Jack White, number 10 for the FairView University Rugby team breaks school record for most tries in a game with 8 in total.
Choose the correct AP style format for the above sentence:
[[Jack White, no. 10 for the FairView University Rugby team breaks school record for most tries in a game with 8 in total.]]
[[Jack White, No. 10 for the FairView University Rugby team breaks school record for most tries in a game with eight in total.]]</style>

</div>
[[Get feedback on article->Meet with Section Editor for feedback]] This is the wrong answer. For AP style and addressing a player's number, the abbreviation is "No.".
For numbers, 0-9 are spelled out in AP style, so the 8 should be changed to "eight"
[[Try again->Meet with Section Editor for feedback]] "Correct, even though you stole the cover story from me, I'm still willing to teach you AP style guidelines," said Beth Haggardy, section editor, "there is still more you could add to the story though. Our staff writer and close friend of mine, Sarah Collier said she might have some further information on Jack, she told me she's willing to meet you in an hour."
[[Wait in office to meet with Sarah]]One hour has passed and Sarah Collier has walked through the door of the Fairview Forum publications office.
"Beth was not lying when she told you that I have more information on Jack White. There is a catch though, I have photos that I have to submit for my article. The problem is, I did not take them and June really wanted me to use my own photos. Perhaps, you could submit them under my name and I'll give you more information on Jack?" Sarah said.
[[Submit her photos for further information]]
[[Deny Sarah's request]]With Sarah still in the office, the photos are uploaded and have been credited under a different name other than Sarah's.
"Thanks so much. My friend Dave Loughlin, he's an art student, told me his friend has inside information on Jack. Since you submitted my articles I can text him and tell him to meet you here in the office, if that's okay?" Sarah said.
[["Text Dave"]]Submitting photos and giving credit to a person who did not take the actual photos is not objective journalism. In journalism it is the integrity of journalists to report true and honest news.
The editor-in-chief has been keeping a close eye on staff writers who have been practicing and learning the ethics of journalism. In two days, the editor-in-chief, June Charles, would like to meet with you in the publications office.
[[What if I would submit the photos?->Submit her photos for further information]]
Sarah texted Dave and he has arrived in the office.
"I got here as quick as I could. Now as Sarah was saying, I do have information surrounding Jack White. The only reason I'm willing to give you this information is because his story is taking away from the arts program making the cover story," said Dave Loughlin, "My friend Mike Green, said he overheard Jack talking to his friends after the rugby game on Saturday saying, 'I'm following in my brothers foot steps', is all he heard, but listen I got to go I'm going to be late for the arts club meeting."

[[Read Editor's reply]]The Jack White Profile is published three days later with the new lead. The article highlights how Jack is breaking records but is also following the same path his brother has in the past. The article has a new lead that Jack may be using enhancements just as his brother did in past years.
The Chronicle, FairView University's other student publication has published there story on Jack 24 hours after the Forum's went live.

[[Rewrite Story]]The Chronicle profile on Jack White details similar statistics and records that were in the FairView Forum article. Within the article, the Chronicle accuses FairView staff writer of false information making it an unobjective article with no input from Jack White.
[[Reach out to Jack and apologize]]Apologizing to Jack may be the next big thing after finding out you used false information.
[[Send Email to Jack]]The email to Jack has been sent and yet there is no reply back.
[[Re-read Chronicle artilce that accuses the use of false information]]
Reading over the rest of the article, it is apparent that the Chronicle did an interview with Jack and he denied the accusations. While, scrolling through through the article on the website of the Chronicle. An email alert pops up in the upper right screen of the laptop along with a google calendar alert.
[[open the email notification]]
[[Read google calendar alert]]Jack has finally answered. Within the email, Jack explains his coach insisted it is not within his best interest to be in contact anymore. After receiving the email from Jack, a messenger notification pops up on the laptop.

[[Rewrite story on Jack with new information]]June arrives to office. June walks in with an aggravated look on her face.
"Listen, I understand you had a new lead, but you must realize the importance of reporting objective news and fact checking," said June, "therefore I want you to retract the false story on Jack and also due to your recent mistake I am making every deadline from here on out, early."
[[Retract story]]The alert reads: Meeting with June Charles in Publication Office in 1 day.
[[open the email notification]] The story has been retracted and the editor-in-chief has sent out a note across campus apologizing for the false claims.
[[call coach Stellwater to apologize]]With the new information Dave has provided. A new story is written about how Jack is being forced to either quit Rugby or the Arts program.
The article is still missing one thing..
[[Interview]]The coach is still furious about the false claims that were made against his player and has not returned any calls.
Dave Loughlin sees the story with the false information he provided and goes to the board of academic affairs to be honest about the whole situation.

[[What's Next]]Watching the local news video and re-reading the press release are great places to start getting information on the situation invovling Jack. While doing so, the FairView Forum phones rings..

[[Follow up with Jack for an interview immediately]]
[[Give Jack space]]Following up with Jack so quickly resulted in the article being finished and turned in one time.
While in the office, June sees the article being loaded to the Forum's article folder.
"Hey staff writer, since you were made up for your mistake and retracted your own faulty article, I have decided to promote you to News Section Editor," June said, "With that being said, there is a story I want you to cover next week."
[[What's next]]Giving Jack has probably gave him time to speak on the current situation.
[[Go back to office to call Jack from Forum phone]]Upon arriving in the office, June is standing next to Beth Haggardy who is on the phone, taking down notes.
"Hey staff writer, so Jack just called back and was wondering when you were going to call," June said, "since there was no immediate follow up I have given the story to Beth since her art story was cut last week."
