In this game, you will pretend that you are one of Lehi's kids, younger than Nephi, and that you're coming with him on his adventures.
The story is slightly different from the actual Book of Mormon.

You, {playername}, are a young child living in Israel.
Your father Lehi has been called of God to preach to the the people of Jerusalem. He told you about seeing a pillar of fire, and seeing in a vision that Jerusalem would be destroyed.
How do you feel when your dad goes out to tell everyone that they were going to be destroyed?

You tell your dad that you're upset about what he said. Laman agrees with you and says that God won't destroy everyone.
Dad gets filled with the Spirit, and confounds you. It is so powerful your whole body shakes. You all agree to go.
[[Leave Jerusalem]]curiosity: curiosity + 1

You follow your dad and watch him talk to the people. There are other prophets teaching, too, but nobody listens to them or your dad.
Some people make fun of your dad, so he tells them the truth about their wickedness. They try to kill him! You get scared and run home. It's time to go.

You pray to know if what your father is saying is true. You think of what you've seen yourself, and you realize it's all true. You can feel God telling you to believe your father.
Your tell your brother Nephi, and he says that you're right, and gives you a hug. But it's time to leave.
[[Leave Jerusalem]]It's time. Your father and mother, Sariah, and all your brothers and sisters take your animals and your money and your clothes and you move out into the desert.

But your dad realizes that you need some scriptures that will last longer than paper. If your scriptures get worn out, how will your kids learn about God?
So your dad sends the older kids to go get them. They're all scared because they have to get them from a powerful man named Laban, but Nephi thinks they can do it. What do you do while they're gone?
[[I pray for their safe return.->safePray]]

You follow them into the wilderness. Boy, they're fast!
You finally catch up with them, but all you see is Laman and Lemuel. It's dark, and they're arguing with each other.
Then a weird man comes out of the city, with another guy holding plates. Laman and Lemuel get scared and run away!
But it turns out it was Nephi all along! It was really confusing for a while, but apparently he got the plates.

You argue with your dad the whole time they're gone. Your mom, Sariah, tells you not to fight, but she's worried too and is scared that they won't come home.
Everyone is worried for several days. Until...
[[Nephi returns]]Everyone is happy when Nephi and the others come back with scriptures. Like your family usually does for church, your dad makes an altar and sacrifices holy animals on it.
We start travelling. But one day, dad finds a weird ball outside his tent.

He says it tells people where to go! You start following it. It gets hard. Sometimes you run out of food, and even when you have food it's usually raw meat.
How do you feel about everything?
[[It's all so interesting. I like the ball and wonder where we're going!->wonderWhere]]

All of this is actually kind of fun. You have so many different animals you can take care of, and it's fun seeing Nephi make a bow by himself. So cool!

Sometimes you just get so mad at this desert and the weird ball and the gross raw meat!
Ishmael's sons who joined your family at Jerusalem agree with you. Their dad decided to come along, dragging them with them, and now their dad was dead!
Everyone's cranky, even your Dad. Nephi chastises all of you.

You're just grateful that there's any food and directions from the ball.
At night, you think about God, and sometimes you feel him talking to just you, filling you with comfort and peace. You look up at the stars at night and think about God's mercy in keeping you all alive.
[[Reach the water]]You guys finally reach the ocean. So, you're going to build a ship!
Wait, what?
Nephi says he's going to build a ship. He's going to find metal, melt it, make tools, and build a boat.
Laman and Lemuel get angry and try to hurt him, but Nephi rebukes them and says he is filled with the power of God.

How do you feel about this?
[[I'm not sure I want to go on a boat built by my older brother. He doesn't know how to build a boat!->doesntKnow]]
[[If God helped him get the plates and find food, He can help Nephi build a boat.->canBuild]]
