''Chapter One''
When you awoke, you first remember standing in an empty void. Mysteriously, you aren't moving-- even if you wish you could. This... might be a dream. No matter how likely it is, it feels real. Very real. You try to move your fingers, but they were at rest. You cannot even //strain// your neck to look around, nor can you even move your eyes to scan the room-- your eyes are fixed upon the desolate horizon, as if it was expecting something. A figure emerges from the darkness. He is a middle-aged man with a sturdy build and a long, black beard.
"Well, I hate to rely on you and burden yourself, young'un," he says. "But you've a world to save. Worlds, actually."
You cannot move your lips to speak. All you can do is listen eagerly to what he has to say, interested. You are frightened, though. He's saying such bizarre things. Saving //worlds//? Hah,you can barely even make your own bed!
"Oh, I forgot to lift the spell." He gestures a little, and then you stagger and fall down onto the invisible platform you were standing on. You seem a bit breathless, as you were heaving heavily.

A figure comes out of nowhere, which he is revealed to be a middle-aged man.
"Well, I hate to rely on you and burden yourself, young'un," he says. "But you have a world to save. Or worlds."
For a while now, you cannot move, but your five senses are functioning. A few moments later, a look of surprise crosses his face.
"O-Oh! I forgot to lift the spell." He remembers, and did a tiny gesture. When he finishes, you stagger to the floor. Hey, you can move now. And speak.<</if>>

"You old coot. What have you done to me, and what in the world were you talking about?" You hiss at the man, scrambling to your feet. His eyes soften.
"I truly deserve to be called that. I had casted a spell on you to keep you from moving and doing things by your free will. You have to be thankful you can move now; it's pretty frustrating to be restrained. And, I will explain things in further detail if you... calm down."
You did not look calm. But you took deep breaths and you finally calmed down.
"Okay. What you earlier said was peculiar."
"Alright, alright, I ought to tell you." He says, and he sits down on the invisible floor. "I live in a different world. Literally. We live in the odd world of Leporemia, where everything is possible. Everything. And with just a swing of a hand!" He chuckles. You feel a bit curious of this world, and even if it was way unorthodox, you can somehow feel the truth in his words.
"Science-- we Leps totally hate 'science'! We can defy it however we want, our people, so we just use it just as reference. I bet most ordinary folks in your dull world go crazy for it. Hah. "But point is for magic-- it's wonderful. Talenteds are taught magic, but most people aren't as lucky. Oh! I rambled. I'm sorry, lemme speak about the matter at hand...

"Great!" He says. "My full name is Auxil Sid Cliens, but please address me as Mr. Cliens. Now, I will awake you from your dream. But this is real. Since it's hard to communicate from Leporemia to Earth, I must talk to you through your dreams."
"Oh, did I tell you the quest? No, perhaps not. Leporemia is currently under attack by an evil mage called Drack. I'll tell you more about him later. Please expect something unusual today. Very unusual."
Before you can ask what it was, you appear at your bedroom, and immediately hear an alarm clock. You wipe off your drool and got ready for your day.
Later in the day when you finally have free time, you rest at a nearby park. It was deserted and the sun was about to set. You gaze into the ravishing colors of the sky. It was a peaceful moment, when you almost forgot about Mr. Clien's words, in which he said something out of place was going to happen. Well, no, it certainly won't break your good day today. You just wanted a bit of relaxation. Just take a break and rest and pay no attention to weird matters. But at the corner of your eye, you see a silhouette of a flying bird. Wait, it's a //really// huge bird. You got up immediately to investigate it. Maybe this is what Mr. Cliens was talking about? At first, you just walked over to it. But you now begin to run over to it, filled with determination and a sense of adventure and the desire to break out of your boring, peaceful life and live a risky, adventure-filled existence! The silhouette became larger and larger as you grew closer to it, and you can finally see the colors of it.
The silhouette's silver scales glistens, bathed in the sun's rays, and you can hear its wings darting up and down at a rapid pace, but it didn't seem to tire. Can you guess this mystical, wondrous creature? Yes, if you thought of a dragon, you are completely correct. It flies towards you fast, and you freeze seeing it come at you at a swift pace. You can see a rider.
<<set $RWC to 20>><<set $CWC to "Present">>
"Well, well!" The rider exclaims as she lands the dragon. "What's your name<<if $Gender is "F">>, lady<<elseif $Gender is "M">>, mister<<else>><</if>>? Mine is Chise Teleftaíos."
"$Name," you answer meekly. "And what if someone sees the--"
"Hm. You fit the description. You are aged about... uhm... $Age, and they told me that you were a <<if $Gender is "F">>female<<elseif $Gender is "M">>male<</if>>. So you're THE $Name that the king has been talking about? The one who is going to save us? Wow, I can hardly believe a person like you is going to save Leporemia!" She laughs loudly. "Well, if you really are <<if $Gender is "F">>her<<elseif $Gender is "M">>him<<else>>that person<</if>>, then I am honored to meet you! Now, hop on to my dragon and we will go to Leporemia."
You grab her hand without a word, but your mind has some many questions. A bit apprehensive, you climb up the massive dragon who stares at you curiously. The woman hops aboard too, but in front of you. Before she takes off, she lovingly pets the dragon-- who likes it. "Well, lets go, Drag!" She yells, as she signals for it to take off. It obeys her, and lifts off at tremendous speed, the wind whipping through your hair. It was a fascinating flight, and you ask her a question that you wanted to ask when you were about to mount the enormous creature.
"How are we going to get there?"
She grins mysteriously. She lets go of the reins, dives into a pack tied to the side of the dragon (a pretty dangerous sport), and pulls out a massive gun. You almost fell off the dragon seeing such a frightening weapon. But is it really a weapon? She points it ahead the dragon, closing one of her eyes for more accuracy, and it powers up, sparks and a wave of energy imploding from the mouth of the gun. BOOM! A mysterious portal appears and you, the dragon, and the girl immediately gets sucked into it-- but before that happened, she looks at you with an incomprehensible expression.
<<elseif $Read is "Y">>
"Excellent. Please address me as Mr. Cliens. Though this may be a dream, your situation is real. It's really hard to communicate to Earth from so far away so I had to talk to you through dreams."
"Your quest, I forgot to mention, is to... //subdue// a certain mage. A mage with a desire to become all-powerful. But I'll tell you more later. Please expect... company."
Before you can ask what he means by that, you wake up. You lazily get ready for your day.
Later in the day, you were taking a bit of a breather in a park. You finally have free time, so you're going to use it for rest. It was so peaceful that you forgot what had happened earlier in the day.
Well, peace time is over. Because your reverie was interrupted by a bird-shaped silhouette in the distance. Eh, a bird is a bird. But you realize that it's a really //huge// bird. You come over to it, and what you saw was not one you see everyday.
A silver dragon is flying in the air, waiting patiently for you to approach. On the back of a dragon, you see a girl riding on it. Well, this day is making no sense, it seems.
The girl commands the dragon to fly down, and the dragon obeys her command. She jumps off the dragon. "Hey you!" She yells towards you. "What's your name?"
"U-Uh," you stammer nervously, as she peruses you. "$Name. My name is $Name."
She thinks for a while, and nods twice. "I see! So your the person everyone's been gossiping about, eh? Well hop on the dragon, I'm taking you to Leporemia! My name is Chise Teleftaios. Nice to meetcha."
//Now?//
You nod without a word, still thunderstruck by the current events. A dream inside a dream is possible right? You pinch yourself, but you do not wake up.
The dragon takes off. After a few minutes of flying, you began to wonder how you are going to get there. You ask the girl. She grins mysteriously, and grabs a massive gun! You almost fall off the dragon seeing such a frightening weapon. She points it ahead of the dragon, and it creates... a hole. A dark hole. In which you are about to go into...!

Your eyes are squeezed shut, and you don't know what happened. You are too afraid to even look anymore, and you are willing to close your eyes for an eternity if it means avoiding death itself. But someone shakes you abruptly. "No! No! I don't want to die yet!" You yell, but you hear a woman's loud laugh.
"You aren't dead!" The feminine voice assures. "Open your eyes!"
You aren't quick to open your eyes, still feeling afraid, but you can hear a cricket chirp and a running water noise. "Where are we?" you ask, groping around and feeling grass and dirt beneath your fingers. You open your eyes and gasp.
You awake in a beautiful place, where a tree composed of silver leaves covers you, its leaves falling down, and one landing gently on your head. You pick it off. Right beside the large tree, a river runs smoothly but rapidly, and glowing lights surround you. Even if it was daytime currently in the world, you can see a huge moon smiling upon you. You are rooted in place, thunderstruck. It was hard to process all this beauty, and it kind of hurts your eyes to take in all the colors of the forest, the other trees' leaves varying in colors, all light. You look at the woman, who seems smug by your astonishment. She laughs again, and helps you get back on your feet.
"Welcome to Leporemia!" She speaks, half-laughing through her words. You were still dumbfounded as she takes her dragon and herself away into the forest. "C'mon! We need to get going! The King and Queen expect a lot from you, you know!"

"No! I do not want to die!" You shout, and in return, you hear a feminine laugh.

You slowly open your eyes, revealing where you are. A river runs by beside you, and peaceful forest noises soothe you... just a bit. "Where are we?"
You awake below a tree with silver leaves, which unfortunately, is falling. You guess it is night as a large moon smiles upon you, but it's kind of bright.
Chise smiles smugly due to your astonnishment. She grabs your arm and gets you to your feet. "Welcome to Leporemia!" She walks into a cluster of trees with a variety of colors. "We need to get going, quickly! The King and Queen expect a lot from you!"

You walk down a pathway with trees in the overhang. The air is refreshing and crisp, the wind gently blowing your hair and your clothing. "Oh, I forgot to lift the spell." He gestures a little, and then you stagger and fall down onto the invisible platform you were standing on. You seem a bit breathless, as you were heaving heavily.
You are now hostile.
"Science— we Leps totally hate 'science'! We can defy it however we want, our people, so we just use it just as reference. I bet most ordinary folks in your dull world go crazy for it. Hah. But I know that some of your folks also hate science, anyways... it's a complex world. But magic? It's unpredictable. It's difficult to describe. It's impossible to decipher. Not even Rereceros can possibly solve magic and how it really works, and he's unspeakably genius!
"But point is for magic— it's wonderful. Talenteds are taught magic, but most people aren't as lucky. Oh! I rambled. I'm sorry, lemme speak about the matter at hand...
"Leporemia is in danger, and it will also heavily affect Earth too. If you don't accept the quest, then Earth is doomed and it will be brought down along with Leporemia, I can assure you. Leps have, for centuries, fought off mythical creatures to defend the future of your world, but if it is brought down, these merciless creature will bring the end of your own home! Please, we need your help."
You stare at him intently at disbelief. You had uncountable amount of questions in your mind but one question stood out. "Why me?" Oh, right, you shouldn't ask if it is real— the world, him, and everything. This is only a dream. But... let's play along.
He shrugs. "A... special person in Leporemia had specially requested you. I have no idea myself, but we— Leporemia— needs you. Need. You must accept the quest."
You are now zealous.
"I must learn more— what were you talking about?"
"An eager youth, I see!" He answers, clearly pleased by your reaction. "I am all too happy about it. By the way, I had casted a spell on you that stops you from doing anything. I apologize for that. Now, I am glad to explain things to you further into detail, but I'm saddened they would put such a big responsibility to a youngster like you."
"What big responsibility?"
"Okay, a bit of a background information." He sits down on the invisible floor. "I live in a different world. Literally. We live in the odd world of Leporemia, where everything is possible. Everything. And with just a swing of a hand!" He chuckles. You feel a bit curious of this world, and even if it was way unorthodox, you can somehow feel the truth in his words.

You are now tranquil.
He gives you a joyful look. "Now, here we have a less-jumpy hero! I mean, most heroes these days are cocky and over-confident, so I am with joy that someone can finally remain quiet. That's rare these days, y'know! They are so talkative and they speak so loudly that it hurts my eardrums! I apologize for casting a spell on you for stopping you doing things by your own free will. I have lifted that up, so you can speak if you wish. I'll explain things that I had said to you if you can stay still."

"Uh... well, this special person is part of the Mageía Council, a powerful group that runs Leporemia. She is one of the best of Leporemia, but her true name is a secret. She goes by the name of Magi, though."
"Great!" He says. "My full name is Auxil Sid Cliens, but please address me as Mr. Cliens. Now, I will awake you from your dream. But this is real. Since it's hard to communicate from Leporemia to Earth, I must talk to you through your dreams.
Wait, it's a really huge bird.
"Well, well!" The rider exclaims as she lands the dragon. "What's your name, mister? Mine is Chise Teleftaíos."
"August," you answer meekly. "And what if someone sees the—"
"Hm. You fit the description. You are aged about... uhm... -13, and they told me that you were a male. So you're THE August, right? I can hardly believe a person like you is going to save Leporemia!" She laughs loudly. "Well, if you really are him, then I am honored to meet you! Now, hop on to my dragon and we will go to Leporemia."
You grab her hand without a word, but your mind has some many questions. A bit apprehensive, you climb up the massive dragon who stares at you curiously. The woman hops aboard too, but in front of you. Before she takes off, she lovingly pets the dragon— who likes it. "Well, let’s go, Drag!" She yells, as she signals for it to take off.
BOOM! A mysterious portal appears and you, the dragon, and the girl immediately gets sucked into it— but before that happened, she looks at you with an incomprehensible expression.
"C'mon! We need to get to Regni, quickly! It's the capital of all of Leporemia. It's where the supreme queen and king lives."
"Tell me more about this world," you ask politely.
She looks at you as if thinking that you are jesting.
"But didn't Mr. Cliens already told you about our world? There is really no need for me to explain it to you." She waves away your question.
"You know Mr. Cliens?" You ask, surprised.
"Oh, yes, he is very well known in Leporemia. Why you ask?"
The king and queen?" You ask.
"Yes, this place is ruled by something you call a 'monarchy'. I heard of that term in your world, but there is only one type of ruling in our world. Only a few wise ones has ever learned about the types in your world, and we hope it will stay like that. Because, people will start... rebelling against it. Especially if they've ever heard something called 'democracy'." Chise says, ruminating the consequences and shivering.
"Oh, yes, certainly," you respond. "People are crazy about freedom in my world." You think about your own world, and how people of America loves their freedom and speaking their minds. There aren't a lot of places which has democracy, but it's highly favored by commoners.
"See?"
The king and queen?" You ask.

"See?"
Your hostile personality changed the story.
"Tell me more about this world," you say, sounding demanding. "I am saving the world, so you must surely figure out that I have demands, there and that."
Your relations with Chise has deteriorated.
"Well, sorry," she answers sarcastically. "I didn't know you had such HIGH expectations!
"But didn't Mr. Cliens already told you about our world? There is really no need for me to explain it to you." She waves away your question.
"You know Mr. Cliens?" You ask, surprised.
"Oh, yes, he is very well known in Leporemia. Why you ask?"
You walk down a pathway with trees in the overhang. The air is refreshing and crisp, the wind gently blowing your hair and your clothing. The girl's hair flew about violently, tossing her blonde hair over her shoulders and floating in the wind. Some leaves moves and whirls around as you walk down, and you occasionally see a mysterious animal or two (that cannot be described of) and twice as much irregular footprints that you aren't used to. Well, there's a lot more to this world, you thought to yourself. So much species you'll find, but so many you will not know. It makes you a bit nervous, but somehow, you feel determined to find more about this inscrutable world.
Physical Strength became your prime skill.
"I try to threaten the guard using my physical strength. It's my best strength." You tell Chise, and she shrugs.
"Your call, commander," she answers.
You walk up to the guard with your fiercest look ever. You puff up your chest and kept your head up. When you finally got to the station, you look at the man in the eye, but he seems unfazed. He was definitely trained for this, it seems.
"What is your name?" he asks, looking bored. He is an old man, with a wispy beard and white, lacking hair. He has wrinkles in his skin and heavy eyebags. He seems too old for the job.
"Get us on that bridge. Now." You say with hot, fiery eyes.
"Or what?"
You shake your fist at him, which startles him. He shrugs. "Well, I don't get paid much for this anyways," he says, and lets you go.
Your mentality is your prime strength.
"I will think of a plan. My brain is my best strength," you whisper to her, and she shrugs.
"Your call, commander," she answers.
You walk up to the guard alone as Chise watches. You tried to put on your poker face, and you don't know if you're pulling it off. But you try to do it, anyways, hoping you don't look constipated. You walk up to the station, where you prepare yourself to talk to him. He looks at you indifferently.
"What is your name?" he asks, looking bored. He is an old man, with a wispy beard and white, lacking hair. He has wrinkles in his skin and heavy eyebags. He seems too old for the job.
"Hi. You look tired, aren't you?" you began. You secretly take a peek inside his post, and you see his boss's name. Chise has told you that a guard has a specific boss that is assigned at a nearby outpost. They give the guards a task. Each outpost has a name, so you search his station for the outpost's name. "Your boss, Mr. Troq, is it? Yes, he assigned me here. He says he needs you back at Lion's Fortitude. Quickly. I will take over your job, meanwhile."
He looks at you quizically. "I wasn't alerted."
"Things are messy back at the outpost. Real chaotic. No one has the time to alert anyone. Really. Let me take over your job."
He nods at you, and leaves. You signal Chise over, where both of you start to cross the unguarded bridge.
You cross the bridge, Chise along with you. "Where to next, Chise?"
She gestures for you to follow her, and you follow her through grassy plains and lush rolling hills. There was almost nothing in sight except the sporadic farms with friendly farmers and numerous trees spread out. What a peaceful day to be walking around, you think.
Chise stops when a wooden, run-down and creaky cottage. You feel a bit apprehensive as she approaches thee cottage's doorstep. She knocks twice on the shoddy, wooden door. She waits a while. She knocks twice again. Nothing. You were about to suggest that you and her should move on, but you hear some latches unlocking. Not like the door and it's locks would do much protection, anyways. A man with a familiar face appears.
"Hey Mr. Cliens!" Chise says cheerfully. Mr. Cliens nods, and motions for you and her to come in. You cannot really interpet his expression under his burly beard.
"I will make some tea for you," he says, but under his breath, "if the stove is working, anyways."
As you courteously excuse yourself into the house, Chise waves you over to a chair. Each step you take is creaky and makes noise, much to Mr. Clien's frustration, but he didn't want to show any rudeness and smiles instead. "Lightly, please." You wanted to quickly get to your chair before Mr. Clien will go to insane. Fortunately, you did.
Mr. Clien heats the tea and sets them into the low table gently. You pick it up, steam rising and hitting your face. You can feel a bit of its warmth.
"Lets get down to business, now, shall we?" He says, looking at you and Chise. Both of you nod.
"As I've already explained to you, , Leporemia right now is in danger from a dark mage. He is called Drack." He says. "Drack was one of my apprentices for magic. Oh, if you didn't know, I am a sorcerer, and a mentor. But a retired one, mind you.
"Drack was a bright guy, who was always optimistic and a really talented lad. Still is, but in a bad way. Something changed him though. He abandoned his trainings and left without a trace. Word was that he started training under a malevolent person. And a darn strong one. Drack always wanted power, so I was always afraid that he would turn away from the good. Well, my intuitions were right, weren't they? He became really powerful over the years until he could finally overcome his own teacher... in which he, himself, overtook..." He trails off, and pauses. Chise looks at him curiously.
You are now curious.
He denies it. "No, not really. When he became my apprentice, I knew. I knew he was going to do something bad. But the Mageia Council was in favor of Drack, so they urged me to teach him. Or else."
He continues. "Now, he's power-hungry. He wants to take over Leporemia. He wants destruction, and wants others to feel grief and pain. He wants your world gone." He looks at you. "He wants everything gone, but his power and himself."
You gulp.
He continues looking at you. "Tell me-- if Drack was about to be finished off, would you give him mercy?"
You hesitate to answer.

You hesitate to answer.
You became more merciful.
Mr. Cliens's eyes mellow slightly. ", you're a kindred soul. It will certainly aid you, but it will also harm you in the long run."
You became more merciless.
Mr. Cliens nods, but very slightly. "You are right, , but do not forget to spare a few lives sometimes. Maybe it'll help you. But yes, you're right."
Your mercy stays indifferent.
Mr. Cliens sigh. "Yes, I guess so. A person's decision changes over time, doesn't it? You can only tell if it ever actually happens. I like your thinking."
Chise raises her hand, and Mr. Cliens, surprised, gives her a chance to speak. She stares at you expectantly.
"How are you going to deal with Drack?"
Chise raises her hand, and Mr. Cliens, surprised, gives her a chance to speak. She stares at you expectantly.

"How are you going to deal with Drack?"
Chise merely nods, and it looks like Mr. Cliens is changing plans in his head.
"I was going to train you to fight him young'un," he says. "But if you really want, I will just train your defenses, so you can overcome damage."
"That's the spirit, young'un!" Mr. Cliens responds. "I'll train your sorcery and physical strength. What about it?"
Chise's face seems... disappointed? She merely nods, and takes another round of tea. "Well, okay. I guess that is what is expected of you."
"What about it, young'un?"
A few hours pass, and you practice all day with defense mechanisms. With Chise's help, your convincing skills increase. Chise is also a public speaker, so you can learn a lot from her.
After a while, you retire back to the cottage.
"You worked hard," Mr. Cliens tells you, and gives you some Leporemia currency money. "There is a nearby inn where you can get food and rest. Unfortunately, there isn't any more rags I can give. You and Chise get 2 rooms."
You thank Mr. Cliens, and go to Pandocheío Inn. Well, according to Chise, at least. The sign was written in a language you do not know of, and she had to translate it to you. "I'll teach you some more about it."
The more education about Leporemian language you have, the more letters of the Leporemian language you can read, translated.

Do you get it?
At the inn, you get 2 rooms, but you have to wait so they can get it. The receptionist apologizes, and leaves you waiting near the counter.
"I'll teach you a bit of Leporemian, if you want," Chise says. "It's important for you to learn how to read them. Otherwise, you won't know where you're going. But in return, you'll have to teach me how to read English."
She beams. "We can start when we have the chance to!" she tells you. Before you can say anything, though, the receptionist came in a flash with a forced smile, telling you both that your rooms are ready. She leads the two of you into two seperate rooms, and you retire for the night, going to bed at the very chance you can get and falling asleep once you hit it. Good job. You earned that rest.
The next day, you woke up. You take your breakfast, and went to Mr. Cliens's. Chise is still sleeping, but you decided she needs her rest.
"Okay, well, I guess it's time for you to fare on your own, from now on," Mr. Cliens says. "Listen carefully, I'll tell you what you need to do."
You nod.
"First, you must go to the Vuono Mountains. It is a mountain range with harsh conditions and bad weather. Though all the mountains there are terrifying and tall, there is an infamous mountain called Mt. Pertram. Someone who lives there has the power of teleportation to transport you to a very far away location. When you teleport there, expect company. You'll find out what's next from him."
"Why not tell me now?" you ask.
"I do not know all the details," he replies. "He might. Chise will travel with you. I also sent someone in Fort Froúrio to assist you, if you want extra company."
You thank him, woke up Chise, and set out on your journey. You were given some provisions before you left.
"What is a school?" she asks as she cocks her head. You sigh and shake your head.
The receptionist comes back hurriedly with a forced smile. She leads the two of you into two seperate rooms, and you retire for the night, going to bed at the very chance you can get and falling asleep once you hit it. Good job. You earned that rest.

Second time travelling again, huh? The sun is just about to rise, but there is no time to lose. Every second counts, so you must fare quickly.
"The Vuono Mountains are 3 towns far," Chise informs you with a sigh. "This will be a long trip. But our first town is near, don't worry."
You keep to a path that lead to the town (or at least it is according to Chise), but as you kept walking, the path became more faded and eventually, the path ended. Chise frowns. "Well, I guess this world hates travellers."
She looks around, but there isn't any buildings in sight. She looks at you. "Where do you think we should go?"
She shakes her head. "I've never been to these areas before," she answers. "Mr. Cliens only told me about the earlier ones."
West is headed for a grassy plain, and you can hear a river too. Chise looks towards the direction, and approves of your decision. Both of you head west.
Just a few minutes of walking, and you can see the river. The river, it seems, is too wide and too deep to be crossed. There is a trunk that leads to the other side, but it looks worn and old.
"Should we cross it...?"
"I am going to swim to the other side," you tell her bravely. A look of confusion crosses Chise's face.
"You're crazy!" She says. "You're never going to cross the river!"
You ignore her. You start to swim. At first, you think you can easily make it there without any troubles. But you can feel the water rising to your knees and hips and then up to your chest.
Before you could swim back, your feet hits a log under the water and you lose balance. You hit the water. You tried to swim back for air, but your feet is stuck on the log.
Bubbles burst from your mouth as you scream underwater, and you lose oxygen.
You drowned underwater.

You struggle, but the log persists at your feet as you lose oxygen.

You steadily set your foot on the log, and the wood creaks. You` hastily place your feet back. "Well?" Chise asks. "Should we cross it?"
Who should go first?
You run to the other side, Chise after you, but you were not quick enough.
You submerge into the water, mouthing your goodbyes to each other before both of you drown in the river, without any witnesses and without saying goodbye to your loved ones back at home.

Chise gulps, and steps onto the wood. She balances herself steadily and nicely, and got midway through until the wood starts to creak. She seems to panic.
She became a bit more fidgety, and gives you a desperate look as she tries to get to the other side.
SNAP!
She fall into the river, screaming.
You dive in heroically, and you crash into the water. It's dark underwater.
You look around for Chise. No Chise.
You stayed in the surface, where you left Chise out to drown and die.
Chise is removed from your company.
Still no sign of Chise.
Finally, you can see her body floating, her blonde hair flowing beautifully in the dark water. Even in this water, her complexion is still fair. You grab her arm, and tried to pull her up. She's heavy.
Dang it, you think. How much does she weigh?
She is too heavy, and as you lose oxygen, you lose your strength too, loosening your grip on Chise and she sinks away from view. You drown in the cold, bitter water, without saying your goodbyes to your loved ones... or any one.
You drowned underwater.
Game Over
You give up, and went back to the surface, where you left Chise out to drown and die.
Chise is removed from your company.
She mouths "thank you," sheds a tear, and runs off away from sight. At least, you can save a life before you lost yours. You regrettably say your goodbyes to your loved ones before you lose your oxygen and black out.
You drowned underwater.
Game Over
You don't look at her, and prepare for your demise. You sing in your head, "What a Wonderful World," (ironically), and you lose your oxygen soon. You say your prayers and your goodbyes to your loved ones.
You drowned underwater.

You loosen your grip on hers, but she persists and continues to grab on. She mouths, "it's better to die with someone than die alone, right?" she smiles. You smile in return as both of you drown in the river, with no one else to witness your untimely demise.

The west is lush and there are very tall leaves. You can also hear water running. You look ahead, and you see almost nothing but grass. All just grass.
<<if $CWC is "Present">>"Let's go east," you tell Chise, who nods to you.
"Okay... but what about the west? I think it's a good place to go to. It has a river that I think would be a good fishing spot, and where we can hydrate ourselves."
You go east. You look back, though, to the west.
You go forward. You walked for minutes before you can finally see trees again and friendly farmers. This might be a sign that you are what is considered the outskirts of the nearest town.
"This town is called Kata Mikos, which is known for it's thieves and thugs. Be wary." Chise cautions you, as you can see the buildings come into view. After a few more minutes of walking, both of you step into the building.
The town was busy and bustling, the market's shops lining up along the back of the buildings. Caravans pull into the city, men lifting and placing down new cargo. You see many women, men, and children walking around and ignoring you. Periodically, you can see people with pouches running away, dumbfounded victims chasing them. Thieves, you conclude.
"Now, I think we should add meaning to our visit here," Chise says. "Mr. Cliens informed me that there is a witch here who could help us sharpen our abilities. Follow me!" She runs off, and you try to keep up with her, but she faded into the crowd.
You look around vigorously, but a man bumps into you, who seems very displeased by it. Both of you fall down, and he gives you a hot glare.
"Look what you did," he snarls. He says under his breath, "..."
The man grabs you by the neck. "Weakling," he says, spitting on you. Elch. "It's the other way around, don't you think?" How intimidating.
He grabs you by the neck. "Weakling," he says, spitting as he talks. Disgusting. "I don't like your attitude one bit. Apologize. Now." How terrifying.
"HUH?! Say something!" He snarls, grabbing your shirt and spitting as he talks. He needs to take a breath mint... and a chill pill.
You knee him in the stomach, which causes him to drop you suddenly and land into the ground, hard. He holds his stomach, his pain visible on his pain, and he looks at you with fierce eyes.
"HOW DARE YOU!"
He charges at you, full force.
You punch him in the fac,e which causes him to topple over. You quickly got back up. He gets back up, too, but very slowly, covering his face, but when he revealed it, it showed a furious expression and a bleeding nose.
"HOW DARE YOU!"
He charges at you, full force!
You apologize to him several times. He drops you, hard. "Heh. Learn your lesson, next time." He walks away. "But you will have to pay for this shirt, later." He goes away with his big, tall-built friends who laugh and snicker at you as you get up.
In the crowd, you can hear someone yell your name, "$Name! $Name!" Then, out appears the familiar face of Chise with a concerned look on her face. She grabs your hand and pulls you away from the crowd. After a moment, she drops your hand.
"Be more careful..." she says, and sighs.
Phew, got out of that one.
As you continue to walk, you see a sign. //Welcome to Kata Mikos//, it says. //Home of thieves and thugs!// Well, who would be compelled to go to this town? After a few more minutes of walking, you step into the building.
You step smartly aside, but since he charged too much, he wasn't able to stop himself and hit an object. He knocks himself out. Relieved, you took a moment to catch your breath. What a temper!
When you look up, you can see bystanders staring at you, watching you, looking at you with a scared look. You stare back. A man steps from the crowd with a cruel expression on his face.
"Monster," he says, and he says nothing else to you. He just asks for volunteers to tend to the man.
You stood your ground, rooting yourself to the ground firmly. He charges at you...
You take it nicely, and flip him, causing him to go unconscious. Relieved, you took a moment to catch your breath. What a temper!

You try to take it, but he knocks you down. He laughs and sniggers, and bystanders laugh with him. The sea of faces with their sadistic expressions, looking down at you.
You stand up, and walk away from the crowd. What fools they are. That man sure has his strength, but he doesn't have much brains. It's cruel to laugh at such a helpless creature...
So... so cruel...
People scatter away from you, clearly still afraid.
In the crowd, you can hear someone yell your name, "$Name! $Name!" Then, out appears the familiar face of Chise with a concerned look on her face. She grabs your hand and pulls you away from the crowd. After a moment, she drops your hand.

"I will think of a plan. My brain is my best strength," you whisper to her, and she shrugs.

"As I've already explained to you, $Name, Leporemia right now is in danger from a dark mage.

Your walking is uneventful, but when you get to a wooden, run-down, creaky cottage, Chise stops and approaches the door. She knocks on it twice. She repeats it after no response. About to suggest that you both carry on, the shoddy door opens and familiar face peers out.
"Hey Mr. Cliens!" Chise exclaims. He nods, and motions for both of you to come in.
He offers tea, and you excuse yourself inside the house. After he makes it, he sits down on a stool.
"Well, let's go back to business," he says, looking at you both. Both of you nod.
"I've told you that Leporemia is in danger because of a dark mage, right? Yes. He is called Drack. He was one of my apprentices for magic, since I was a mentor, and still currently a sorcerer.
"He was a bright guy, and I was sure greatness was headed for him. Something changed him, though. He abandoned his trainings and left. Rumors say that he starts training under a more evil person. [[Me.]]
You both cross the trunk, steadying yourself on the log. Chise holds her place well, but the trunk is being heavily burdened by the weight.
Just a few more steps, and both of you are safe.
But that is not enough.
The trunk begins to take its toll, and it snaps!
[[Run to the other side!]]
[[Grab Chise.]]
[[Paralyze in fear.]]Chise gulps, and steps onto the wood. She balances herself steadily and nicely, and got midway through until the wood starts to creak. She seems to panic.
She became a bit more fidgety, and gives you a desperate look as she tries to get to the other side.
''SNAP''!
She fall into the river, screaming. <<set $Trunk to "Broken">>

You gulp loudly, and step into the trunk. "I'll go first," you tell Chise, and she nods vigorously, a feeling of mixed concern and relief crossing her face.
You step into the trunk, its holow innards causing the creaks. You continue to balance and walk to the other side before...
''SNAP!''
The trunk snaps and collapses into the water, along with you. Chise screams. You crash into the water. You see Chise staring at you. Her eyes say, "what should I do?"
[[Save me.]]
[[Spare yourself.]]

<</if>>You run to the other side, Chise after you, but you were not quick enough.
You submerge into the water, mouthing your goodbyes to each other before both of you drown in the river, without any witnesses and without saying goodbye to your loved ones back at home.

[[Go back to the early path.->"You should know better than I!"]]Finally, you can see her body floating, her blonde hair flowing beautifully in the dark water. Even in this water, her complexion is still fair. You grab her arm, and tried to pull her up. She's heavy.
//Dang it//, you think. //How much does she weigh?//
[[Give up.]]
[[Pull 'er up!]]She is too heavy, and as you lose oxygen, you lose your strength too, loosening your grip on Chise and she sinks away from view. You drown in the cold, bitter water, without saying your goodbyes to your loved ones... or any one.
//You drowned underwater.//
''Game Over''She jumps into the water to save you, but you continue to sink. You try to grab onto something, but that something scratches your hand, and your hand slips. Chise alarmingly grabs you, but like an anchor, gets pulled down by your weight.
[[Let go of her hand.]]
[[Continue to grab on.]]
She mouths "thank you," sheds a tear, and runs off away from sight. At least, you can save a life before you lost yours. You regrettably say your goodbyes to your loved ones before you lose your oxygen and black out.
//You drowned underwater.//
''Game Over''You don't look at her, and prepare for your demise. You sing in your head, "What a Wonderful World," (ironically), and you lose your oxygen soon. You say your prayers and your goodbyes to your loved ones.
//You drowned underwater.//
''Game Over''You loosen your grip on hers, but she persists and continues to grab on. She mouths, "it's better to die with someone than die alone, right?" she smiles. You smile in return as both of you drown in the river, with no one else to witness your untimely demise.

''Game Over''She persists and continues to grab on, and so do you. She tries to pull you up and you support her efforts, but it seems futile. She looks at you. She mouths, "it's better to die with someone than die alone, right?" she smiles. You smile in return as both of you drown in the river, with no one else to witness your untimely demise.
//You drowned underwater.//
''Game Over''You go forward. You walked for minutes before you can finally see trees again and friendly farmers. This might be a sign that you are what is considered the outskirts of the nearest town.
<<if $CWC is "Present">>
"This town is called Kata Mikos, which is known for it's thieves and thugs. Be wary." Chise cautions you, as you can see the buildings come into view. After a few more minutes of walking, both of you step into the building.
<<else>>
As you continue to walk, you see a sign. //Welcome to Kata Mikos//, it says. //Home of thieves and thugs!// Well, who would be compelled to go to this town? After a few more minutes of walking, you step into the building.
<</if>>
The town was busy and bustling, the market's shops lining up along the back of the buildings. Caravans pull into the city, men lifting and placing down new cargo. You see many women, men, and children walking around and ignoring you. Periodically, you can see people with pouches running away, dumbfounded victims chasing them. Thieves, you conclude.
<<if $CWC is "Present">>
"Now, I think we should add meaning to our visit here," Chise says. "Mr. Cliens informed me that there is a witch here who could help us sharpen our abilities. Follow me!" She runs off, and you try to keep up with her, but she faded into the crowd.
<</if>>
You look around vigorously, but a man bumps into you, who seems very displeased by it. Both of you fall down, and he gives you a hot glare.

''Version 1.4 Notes''
Hello again, with the latest version! As of 12/23/2015, I give you the update with reputation!
In the town of Kata Mikos, home of the thieves and thugs, you'll run into a little problem with a man. Will this encounter change your reputation?!
''Reputation Section Added to Stats'': I added the section, ''Reputation'', to the stats. Each town/area might have reputation in it, and having a good reputation will earn you respect from it's inhabitants. In Kata Mikos, available reputations is a laughing stock and feared/disliked. Those are bad, so it's best to avoid these.
''Death State Affecting Story'': If you wrangle with this dangerous man and Chise is alive, she might just brighten your day. Otherwise, your character might be going down a dark path. If she is dead when you become disliked or a laughing stock, your darkness may increase.
''Corruption'': Be aware that this is the malicious, evil intents inside of you. If the darkness grows inside of you, you might even turn against your quest! This is part of your stats, in which you can keep track of.
Not including the choices, but including the codes, etc. etc., you get a total of:
18,065 words, but without coding, it is about 7,700 (forgot, but it's about that much!)

''Version 1.3 Notes''
Hello to people who bother to read this (^u^)/! Today, I present you, as of 12/22/2015, the update that brought you a new (but uncompleted) chapter 2!
This chapter 2 is, hopefully, long. I plan it to be as long as 3 towns. Or if I want things to progress quickly, a chapter for each town and some more additonal chapters. Chapter 3 will hopefully be Veono Mt. Range area, and I haven't planned out the next ones, but it is hopefully going to make you stay awake. I tend to go off the storyline and focus on stupid things, lol <3
The new things that I added:
''Company'': In this update, I present you the new section in the Stats, Company! This shows the status of your company, meaning people who joined you on your adventure. There is, currently, only one person in your company, but I am planning multiple. There are only 2 that I confirm will actually be in your company. Your company is both your aid and burden. Take care of them, as they will take care of you.
''Death'': This is only implemented now, since I want most of chapter 1 to get you used to the gameplay and take it easy. Chapter 2 is faring on your own. In chapter 2, there is a death scenario. Chise or you can die, and possibly even both of you. There are 4 ways for you to die, and more than 1 way for Chise to die.
Hint: It is futile to save...
''Death State in Relations'': In early versions, you can only have 2 states in relations: a percentage and a "haven't met yet". Now that one of your company, Chise, is able to die, if she did, it will display (in scary red, bold text) <span class="Red">"Dead"</span>. Ah, that is sad, is it not?
''Company Stats'': In the company stats, there is only one person being displayed, and that is Chise. If she is alive/with you, her status would be 'present'. But if she is dead or gone, she is 'absent'.
''Startup Page'': This is it. The new page you first went to has changed! WOOT!
