You gather your bearings to the best of your ability, given the circumstances. You slowly begin to remember something... You think you might have had a mission of sorts? Something only <I>you're</I> capable of. You fumble around and start to get a feel for the room.

With the light, you can get a better view of the room. It's some sort of medical/infirmary area. As per 32nd century medical standards you find small gray beds lined along the walls with a respirator at the bedsides to inhale medical nanobots. How could this facility be in such good shape?
"Well, hello there! Subject number (print: 1+$deaths) right? Miracle ya made it this far!" You whip around in shock to find a scrawny little mechanoid gazing up at you, waving with a big smile. It seems to be roughly modeled after a little chimp and seems to be in relatively pristine condition.

A pop up covers the screen and reads, "Greetings subject (print: 1+$Deaths), excellent performance so far. These terminals will be found throughout the cruiser, and each one will give you varying snippets of information vital to your mission.
I'm sure you may be experiencing mild memory loss, so I'll catch you up. You're one of 7000 humans that survived a system-wide extinction event. You and your crewmates reading this with you are the species last and only hope.
To your right is the laboratory which is being managed by our top scientists who will accompany you. The laboratory itself contains experimental serums, that if used correctly, will be able to spawn a genetically diverse population of new humans to populate any habitable exoplanets you settle. Please note that without constant exposure to light, these serums become highly volatile. The engine room on your left contains flares, which will help subdue the serum while you work on getting the lights back on. Please remember <I>you alone</i> are humanities last hope."
The message cuts off there, and the pop-up closes...
[[Step away->Go further]] Stepping over the crumpled ball that was once the door and into the room, you find rooms light panels still semi-functional, letting off a very dim light into the room. You see a series of long wide metallic cylinders running from the floor to the ceiling. They appear to function as the ship's engines or some other essential piece of technology, judging by the constant whirring noise they make. Each of them has a glowing panel in the center that reads "POWER SAVING MODE" If you could find the right tools, you could try reallocating the power being used to move the ship into turning the lights on...
There's a small, bright yellow box on the side of one of the engines that don't seem to have a lock or anything else preventing you from opening it.
[[Open box]]
[[Go back->Go further]]You step into the doorway and find the remains of a once prestigious labratory.
