One time your grandmother told you a old myth:
A long time ago, there was a powerful general in our country. He was famous for his brutaility. In his lifetime, he has killed countless people. Everytime he won a battle, he will host a huge feast to boast to his guests about his "courageous actions" of killing.
He was crazy and arrogant. One time when he was hosting a feast, he killed one of his concubines in rage because he thought that she was slow in serving food. When the emperor heard that this happened, he questioned the general in his court. The general, thinking that he was greater than anyone else, spit at the court and left without saying a word.

The emperor felt threatened by the general's action. He and the minister plotted the general's death and took away the general's army. The execution of the general attracted many people to watch. The people exclaimed when they saw the general's head get chopped off.
The head fell into the basket, and the people became frightened when they saw that the expression on the head. While his huge eyes gazing out from the sockets angrily, and the mouth was wide open seeming to groan again for one last time.

The demon is believed to be the general, whose curse drags our country into war after his death. That demon, the demon of hatred, will only reveal a grin on his face when he senses death.

You heard someone say "Good! You are what we need! You will gain so much from this!"

You heard that you would be awarded with a good amount of money if you go to war for your nation. Thus, you made the decision of joining the military.

"Don't be silly." You said, thinking that your wife is being a weak person who carries little feeling for the nation.

He is laying down and looking at you, his huge eyes are gazing out, as if they are going to fall. He sees you and put on smile on his face: "You won't come back here. You are going to be with me for your rest of life."

Suddently, you felt something on your neck. You look up and see the demon of hatred is sitting on your neck. He looks so happy, he is almost laughing.
He bends down and start to whisper in your ear: "Isn't this what you wanted? Why are you having second thoughts? Do you remember your hate towards these people? KILL HIM."
He laughs loudly as you pull the trigger.

You realized why you can not move: the demon of hatred is on top of you. He is staring at you with his face twisted in agony. He sees you waking up, slowly bends down to your ear and whispering:"Go to the shore tomorrow, someone is gonna save you."

As you are running, you think that this must be a the demon's setup to take away your life. The demon must be happy to see you die while holding the dream of reuniting your family. That is what he likes, and that is what he does. You think.
You are probably insane now, you know that. But you do not care. You are going to spend the rest of your life here, away from the war, away from the torturing and the demon's trap.

As you jump off the boat you underestimated how tall this ship is and as you impact the water you get severily injured on the way down. Your injury prevents you from swimming and as you scream for help no one hears you in time.
After a couple of minutes, you can't wail anymore and slowly decend to the bottom of the sea.

You do your duty as a soldier and continue to fight in this gruesome war that has taken countless lives. For a cause that you have gradually lost sight of why and how this war has started.

Until one day you are sent on a mission they are calling "The Battle of Leyte Gulf." Your commanders have been telling you how crucial this battle is to winning this war and how if we win this battle we can finally go home to our families.
After a horrific day of constanly fighting, your ears are constantly ringing and your eyes are bloodshot red since you have not slept in days. While you are fighting the next day you get critically wounded.
[[Go to the medical bay->Ending1-2duty2]]You try to steal a tender boat from the ship that saved you. You sneak past the guards, un-dock the ship, and power up the engine.
The guards yell, "What the hell are you doing! You wont surive one day out their!"
You ignore them, and as you are leaving the fire a few shots at you putting a few minor holes in the ship.
You last a week at sea thinking you would have survived better on that stupid island. In making a desperiate attempt to try to see your family again you sob, "I am really sorry Lucy, I really wish there was another way." as you close your eyes for the final time.
