Simple question about inventory issues.

I am creating a horror game with as much interaction through the typing feature as possible. However, I'm trying to create a menu that is reachable by the look, see, etc command from the player. I want it in the inventory and I don't want it to be showing some of the verbs available, just to show that it is there for the player to reach.

I want it to be reachable with a ton of words and just have one verb display in the inventory. So, multiple accessible verbs but just one inventory verb. This is not just about "look at", but also a question for future objects and the actions a player can do with those.

It feels a bit weird to have all verbs with the same action show in the inventory.

I'm not completely sure what you're describing here.

Are you saying that you'd like to have the player able to peek into their inventory and see all the items there?
Hammer
Coin
Used Gum

Then you want them to be able to see some of what they can do with those items? (creator customisable)?
Hammer (swing)
Coin (spend, toss)
Used Gum (chew, stick-to)

Then you also want them to be able to check their inventory and see the same, but for findable objects? like :
"Floss (not found yet)" (ravel, unravel, wrap)

This is what I think you're describing?
