Unable to publish new game

Hey all,

I'm a brand new user. I used Quest to complete a project of mine and it has been smooth so far. Operative words being "so far".

Upon trying to publish my project, however, I ran into an error along the lines of:

"Sorry, something went wrong
An error occurred while processing your request."

Looking at previous forum posts I'm hearing this could take days to resolve. Is this factual? Publishing this is not urgent for me but I'd like to get it out sooner than later.

I'm not even publishing to the entire website, either. Just trying to get a working link for my game that I can share.

Also tried uploading the .quest file from the windows app. Nothing seems to work at the moment.

Is it just a matter of waiting...?

It could be that the server's down, in which case it might be a day or two. But I don't see any other sign of problems.

Do you see a padlock in the address bar? This could be one of the problems that comes up if you visit the insecure version of the site recently. Try changing http:// to https:// in the URI if it isn't already there.

Yep, padlock's there and the URL reads https://. That doesn't seem to be the issue, but thanks for pointing out that the server just might be down at the moment and this may be temporary.

Fingers crossed this gets resolved soon.

Yes, this could take days to resolve.

Welp. This little setback has officially cost me my university project.

I was able to record myself playing though and unlocking all the endings, but that's nothing like sharing your finished product and letting others play it.

Really leaves a bitter taste in your mouth.

Just thought… there's another time I've seen this error in the past, and that's if your game ID already exists.

I'm not sure how that could happen, unless your game was created by modifying an existing game (or if you've downloaded a game from the web editor to make changes offline). But it may be worth going into the aslx file and hunting for the line that looks like:

    <gameid>069b4ec3-dbfc-4460-857a-18d8eda332e9</gameid>

If you change that to a different UUID and republish, does it then allow you to upload it?

yeah, i lost 3 month's of on and off work to the same thing

i tried for months to get help and support and tried everything everyone suggested on the forum
nada

in the end i spent half a day copying everything to the offline version and debugging the differences between the versions .... i still regret choosing Quest to this day
