Game review/comment section

steve the gaming guy
If you haven't noticed, Alex has revived the comment section on the games page.

If I recall, he had shut it down for a while to filter out a lot of spam, etc.

The bad news (for me anyway), the last comment on one of my games was taken out before I got a chance to read it. I'll just write it up as a spam comment. :?

The comments section might have been revived but it's not possible to add any new comments. Then again, there hasn't been a new Quest game released since September 05 so there's probably not much to say.

Viewing comments is back, but I've disabled adding comments for now until I can think of an effective way of avoiding spam.

I do actually have a fair few games which have been uploaded but not yet approved. What I really want is some kind of content management system for the games archive which will:

- allow people to login to post reviews and upload games
- allow me to set up moderators to approve games and delete reviews
- preferably integrate with the phpBB login system so we don't have to have multiple accounts

I've had a quick look and I can see there are some systems out there which will probably do what I require, although they might be overkill. Does anybody have any recommendations?

I came up with mambo in a google search, although I'm sure there's gotta be more out there (if you have a phpbb account or something helps I suppose).

It shouldn't be that difficult to mix them together - I thought they all used the same way of storing the passwords - actually using the MD5 sum or whatever on the SQL side - or possibly MD5-ing the password before saving it to the database.
Using the same username/password thing shouldn't be too hard to 'hack' in the management system code.
It's just the profile and stuff I guess you have to watch out for.
