Erm, tried to change the background, and of course the images are GIF-based, in which case they stand out and are fugly.
I suggest using PNG's, I think IE7 has support for transparent PNG's now.

yeah, the header needs to be updated. I'm not worried about images for now. The bug with the photos not showing up is known, and i'm working on fixing it.

No I would never do that... Just thinking if you needed help I would help... with over 10,000 webpages under my belt. Only can help.
