Maybe I should write an ASL Tutorial...

Cryophile
Anyone think it would be a good idea to write an ASL3.x tutorial for the newbies?

GameBoy
the help file is already greatly explanitary with fill detail and instructions on how to use code, and where.

I always suggest starting off with QDK, and anybody who finds it difficult to work out QDK needs brain therapy

Well - I agree with Ste that the help file is pretty good.

An ASL 3.x tutorial is basically "Learn BASIC".... Since it really is only a slight leap from BASIC...

It should become easier the more you code.

ack, lag made me post twice....

and where can i get BASIC stuff from? i've never actually seen it anywhere, and dont REALLY know what it is lol

I did this for Quest 2.1x a LONG time ago, but have never quite got around to finishing off an upgrade to reflect the changes in ASL introduced with Quest 3.5.

You don't need to understand any BASIC to program Quest ASL, though if you do know a recent version of BASIC it makes using Quest ASL a doddle. I'm no longer convinced that casual users are even interested in coding manually, even though it is still the best way to get good results from Quest.

if you want to learn BASIC, there are a whole heap of QBasic programs avaliable for download @ http://www.qbasic.com

You then need to get a copy of QBasic to run these. Look around on your Widnows CD or I can email you a copy

Or you could use google or something and download Qbasic 4.2 (or whatever the full version was) that can compiler programs and whatever. Loads of download sites out there...
