It was a small and rubbish sample game I created for Quest 1.0. I still use it for screenshots though - including the screenshots on this site (which are usually the screenshots used by other sites). I intended it to be a sample game that would show off Quest's features - but it only "showed off" the features of version 1.0, and there weren't very many!

How long does an honest to god Quest 'game' ( not the chintzy hacked together nonsense that most of the games seem to be) take to actually finish? And once their finished, do they qualify for the IF awards?

It takes as long to finish a game as it takes. Strange sounding answer but true nevertheless. Your game is finished when you're completely satisfied that you've made it as good as it can be. If this is after 1 week or 1 year, then that's how long it takes.
And yes, Quest games can qualify for the IF awards provided they've not been released beforehand.

Eck - with no developers working on games it's hard to determine a development time....
I need to spend a solid week on the PC without getting interrupted on the net or going out or anything..........

I have started my first full quest adventure, am dioing all the design work on paper before touching the computer, it is 14 room, quite small, several problems, there will be a good level of detail. some intresting features which I think some people will like. So far I have tanken 4 days, half way through the design stage, and expect to finish it in a month. ( With at least one week, testing and bug fixing).
I think its better to start small, develop experience, then try something slightly bigger/advanced. That way you will not be discoraged. You will beable complete it it in a reasonalbe amount of time and it should good playable quality.

You ought to start a new topic rather than tack your message onto the end of an (old and) existing one. It'll stand out more that way.

Another interesting addition to the conversation by 007Bond.
Almost a year gone by since my reply. T'was a VERY old topic, it is on-subject. Just maybe a wrong choice in using one so old.
