Almost Finished!

I've been working on a game with a friend of mine for a bit now, and we've finally got it ready for release. It's a 2D online RPG, and all we need to do now is maps, NPC, Items, Shops etc.

It's called After Darkness, although the game went through many names...

Ebersmile, Feudal, Feudal Online, Feudal Ages, Medieval Magic, and has just changed recently to After Darkness, because of the Dark theme im giving it.

This is what the game will look like. While this game is being release, we are also working on another game, which will be 10 times better than this one, and we might be making it into a future-setting, which space ships, and space stations, and galaxies and stuff.

http://www.afterdarkness.squiggleuk.com/community is the forum, the site isn't finished yet, but i'm working on that.

Looks pretty god IMO. Keep us informed.

Latest Screenshot!

Still doing the change over from Medieval Magic to After Darkness so don't be alarmed if there are two names for the game in the screenshot

I've seen your example pics and they're pretty sweet. I haven't played around with visuals on Quest and I know there is no short and simple answer but how do you get a game to look like that in the Quest window where text normally is? To me, this looks like the text window (of text already typed) is cut in half and the top part shows a game and below you type commands.
Overall, I'm amazed at how professional this game looks. Did you use any outside software or is Quest capable of all of this?

that ain't in Quest. Quest doesn't support plug-ins (hopefully it will soon). This is written in something like VB or C, don't know exactly though.

Is it only for Win32 or is there a linux port?

007bond
It looks like it would only be Win32, which is a pitty, but then again, most programs and games these days still do not support Linux, which really defers people from using it.

It's done entirely in visual basic and probably only runs in windows. I'm not a coder, i got Moonripper working on that part. You really should use windows man, or else you miss out on things like this.

if you're into graphical text games like the one above, have a look at that.

Also just to point out to people, it was Quest that gave me the inspiration to develop my ideas further. My game, after darkness is the outcome of my inspiration of using Quest. This was my first ever game creation experience, and that's why im still here, because it was Alex's software that got me into game creating.

Same here. Seeing Quest made me realise how easy it is to create a program like that, and that's what got me into making Castle of Doom (see my sig).

I've never really heard someone say from linux to windows. There are reasons for that, you know. A lot of good games are for linux, like Neverwinter Nights, Unreal Tournament, Return to Castle Wolfenstein, and RtCW: Enemy Territory.

Hopefully thanks to some very good cross platform libraries such as SDL it's possible to ease the port of games written in C++ (or C ?) from one system to an other one.
Check the game Gish which is available on Mac OS X, Linux and Windows, it's an incredible good game : http://www.chroniclogic.com/index.htm?gish.htm

And for those who like them, some good 3D games are available too. I've heard the last Doom 3 is ported on Linux too.

Erm, is Nebula 2 a cross platform SDL?
I get confused, have a headache right now, and have other stuff to do than run around chasing up Nebula 2 stuff... If no-one replies I'll go round searching for it... Just wondered.
If anyone can suggest a good cross-platform SDL then that'd be nice - I would like to get into that!
