Yes, I've found a very intelligent Conversation Robot on the net. You can find it here.
It's good if you're bored or you just want to have a chat and you're home alone. It's pretty good, but it's not perfect. It's getting there though.

Yeah, but they all live 20+ minutes away from me (well, most of them). It's just fun to see how it responds. I don't spend my whole life around computers, contrary to the belief of my family and many of my friends.

quite impressive. i can have better conversations with this thing than i could with anybody else!

yes, i have found a few flaws lol. It's very good for arguing with.

I found that too. He does get a bit annoying after a while. One problem is that he only remembers messages from about 2 turns back. When you start to talk about trustsing you, and then try and find out what he was hiding, he's forgotten! (Hope that makes sense!)

This thing is pretty funny...

The program you're referring to is an old BASIC program called Eliza. That wasn't very smart at all. This thing is a big step up from that.

uses the same engine as the bot posted initially. You can tell by responses.

It asked for my name, I said "Matthew", and it asked me if I was a male or female. The robot I posted says "How are you Matthew" when I gave it my name. Point Proven

I just asked "How long have we been talking" and it said something like, "For more than 10 minutes at least"

...which was accurate.

i think it logs all the conversations via IP detection. I've had some pretty kinky conversations with that bot

I think it's cookies actually. I deleted my cookies and then it forgot it had talked to me.

heh, i asked it what language it was programmed in:
