Lost Beyond the Xanthor Gates is a slow-burn science fiction interactive fiction experience built in the spirit of classic parser adventures like Zork, Starcross, and Planetfall. Players type natural language commands to explore, experiment, and survive in a world that responds intelligently to curiosity and caution alike.
You awaken alone in darkness aboard a failing gate-point station orbiting the planet Xanthor. Long ago, an ancient civilization constructed a three-point interstellar gate system. One of those points was destroyed in a final battle, leaving the network permanently broken. The fragments still drift in orbit. The surface below still carries the scars.
The gate cannot be repaired. Whatever purpose once brought you here is gone.
The early hours are quiet and isolating as you restore failing systems, explore abandoned corridors, and recover fragments of lost memory. Eventually the path leads down to Xanthor itself, where survival becomes immediate and the truth behind the shattered gate begins to surface.
This is not a fast, action-driven sci-fi story. It is deliberate and atmospheric, focused on exploration, tension, and consequence. Puzzles escalate in pressure. The environment grows less forgiving. Death is possible, but learning and adaptation are part of the design.
If you enjoy thoughtful science fiction, ancient technology, derelict stations, and the feeling of being truly alone in a vast universe, Lost Beyond the Gates of Xanthor invites you in.
The gates are broken. What remains is up to you.
