The year is 2253, and advances in technology have rendered the world all but unrecognizable, even uncanny at times.

Expanding throughout the galaxy, humanity and its allies have prospered. The people of the Milky Way enjoy a time of utopian abundance, peace, and fearless expansion.

But it will not last forever. Distant outposts are falling silent, colonies are vanishing. Something terrible is happening.

You are one of the first responders, the first to discover the oncoming storm. Play as a human or an alien, travel the stars in your private starship, fight powerful foes with your advanced synthetic body, and save the galaxy alongside your crewmates.

For if you fail, this crisis will butcher and slaughter its way across the heavens, and all the universe will pay the price.
