The year is 2019, and you are Erie Mews, a young graduate student who lives in a tiny apartment building that you've never liked. The walls are coated with a filmy, yellow residue from when the last tenents smoked two packs a day inside. Sometimes, when it's warm, you can still smell the nicotine.

Your girlfriend, B, has set up a surprise for you. You have no idea what it's supposed to be, but she tells you that she's been working on it for quite some time. She has been sneaking off at weird hours of the day, but you figured that was just B being B.

On the morning of February 14, 2019, she leaves you a note. When you pick it up, the paper smells faintly of lemons.


Dear Erie,

I have a surprise waiting for you. Meet me at the abandoned library on Route 24. Go right inside.
