Darkmoor by jordanyemm

A survival horror game with mystery and puzzle-solving elements. You have arrived on the island of Feros to investigate the disappearance of the island’s inhabitants but will soon learn that things are far worse than you could have ever imagined.

Currently a very, very short demo. ACT ONE COMING SOON.

This is my first game. I have limited coding experience but I am slowly learning. If you experience any bugs or problems while playing please report them in the comments section and I will do my best to fix it.

It's going fine. A short DEMO, but it showcases what type of game and tone you want. Pretty cool.

I suppose it would be cool if you invest some time and effort on small details. I basically scanned the text and tried looking at everything, and only two elements returned. Try placing more, even if they have no much meaning to the story or any clue. When you decide going on the path of the parser, it is part of the play having this kind of "freedom" and get feedback.

I saw you placed that Sanity Points loos and I am assuming you did that only to show how the game mechanics works. Anyway, I'll leave a piece of advice I learned recently, even not knowing your plans. When you have this type of attributes, things makes more sense when they change in reactions to player's decisions. If numbers just change without imediate previous player input, it gives the feel the player has no control over these numbers, but is somewhat controlled by the numbers. A good way of implementing it into the DEMo is creating a fake choice. All choices leads to the same loss of sanity, but after a player's input, giving the sensation of consequence, that is the key to interactive fiction.

A nice game so far. Keep going!
