Every object in a game should have a meaningful description. When a game doesn't have object descriptions, it is a sign that the game has been rushed, and it will not be interesting to play.
Imagine you have woken up in a strange dark place that you've never seen before. You don't remember anything. You don't know who you are, you don't know what you are. The only thing you know is that it isn't safe here. You must try to find your way out of this place, but be careful. This place is dangerous.
