Alone in the Void by GAZArts

The Starship Amaethon floats alone in the frigid emptiness of space, its engines humming softly as it hurtles further and further from its intended destination. What catastrophe befell the fully manned mining vessel, a behemoth the size of a city, to leave it so hopelessly adrift? The experts back on Earth can only speculate, but all signs point to a disaster of epic proportions, one that rendered the entire crew incapacitated, perhaps all at once. Countless conspiracy theories swirled around the Amaethon, but none of them came close to the truth of what occurred aboard that fateful voyage.

@Daeun Ah I see your meaning, I think its largely because I'm one of those gamers that love a good walking simulator, I enjoy action as much as the next person but I also enjoy an explorative game where the player can soak in the story, it's lore, traverse the many rooms in an attempt to figure out what's occurred.

Much like an interactive story. These were the sort of text adventures I grew up with and so this, as well as Where is everyone? were my attempts to recreate those types of text adventures. This game specifically was me teaching myself how to create a text adventure while making one.

There are a few moments I'm proud of, the audio design, how in an attempt to increase immersion nearly all actions play a sound effect. Also I liked how I used animated gifs in certain areas (like picking up the gameboy or attending the cinema) but I digress.

Thanks for the feedback

@daeun - As before you've mentioned "Game is full of description" are you referring to the fact that both games are in a Text Adventure format? where by its very definition everything needs to be described to the player? Also unfortunately I couldn't replicate the errors that you've received but I'm sorry you didn't like this one either.

Kind Regards
Gaz

Progress report - Added compass & inventory to the interface. Probably something I should have added from the start but was going for more of a retro vibe rather than convivence.

This is a work in progress, I'm teaching myself how to create a Text Adventure while creating one. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated (It's the only way I'll learn!)
