The game doesn't have a lot of content. Most choices boil down to "do you join this somewhat extreme group" or not, and then giving you an ending telling you how the rest of your life went. Found it unrealistic (with a setting that mostly didn't make sense and very heavy and unfair sterotypes) and lacking in interesting (such as in depth looks at people from the time). Also leans in heavily on a red scare mentality that to me doesn't seem realistic.
Gives a fun and slightly educational perspective on what a life might be like in the 1600s. To me it seems reasonably believable with regards to the setting and it has some nice descriptions of for example why a certain choice was favored. However, most paths are shallow, with only 1 or 2 choices once you decide where you live and your gender. Apart from that the writing is sometimes off when it comes to specific paths due to having multiple ways of getting to a certain point. For example the game assumes you have already married when you get employed for certain kinds of "female" work, despite you deciding explicitly to work before marriage. To summarise I found the game to work while being somewhat unimpressive. Would have prefered more focus on a more narrow path while dropping most of them.
Quite political with a clear agenda, has very good storytelling though and a surprising amount of situations you can get into. Sometimes feels a bit buggy, basicly breaking it's own rules, but generally works fine. I'd recommend a few playthroughs.
A fine short classical (very supernatural and with big monsters) horror game. Has some interesting choices and different endings. I personally would be looking for something more realistic and subtle, but the game is good at what it does.
A short game that I would mostly describe as comedy. Has some small educational value as well, but mostly a cute and fun game. Not what I was looking for given the "simulation" tag. Took about 10 min.
The best game I have played in the genre! Just note that the story is long (took me about 2 hours) with a comparatively low density of decisions, making it feel like more of a book than most games. Still, the captivating story and interesting and meaningful choices make it a great game for those interested in the genre.
