If you want to get 100% completion, you need to safely destroy all objects (except for the walls, ceiling, floor, creature, and yourself). The last objective is only possible by destroying everything EXCEPT THE CRYSTAL, then making it so that you're only one non-magical step short of escaping. Then you can destroy the crystal and escape.
