@Regisblackgaard - Thank you, I appreciate that! I don't know about anyone else, but I am still here haha. It seems like someone plays from time to time.

This is a nice game? Are any of you still on the "fanbase"?

Updated:

- Switches can now be referred to with digits as well as full words ("switch 1" or "switch one").

- Changed the text printed after using the "listen" command slightly. Sacrificed adhering strictly to proper English in order to make the intended meaning hopefully more obvious.

@Spido - I considered it like dits and dahs, it was the comma that threw me off. I even considered the last click as being the start of the sequence because it was the only word without punctuation!

I'm not sure if the puzzle is generally too difficult, but any puzzle will be too difficult for some. Perhaps add a way for the player to beg for extra hints if enough turns have passed without any event.

@Isychos - That's a good point that something like "switch 1" isn't recognized. My thought process behind that was that the 0 and 1 buttons represent actual digits, but the switches have more of an emphasis on order, hence the full words one, two, etc. Perhaps I will update it in the respect.

As for the click clue, you could note that the switches make a "click" noise when switched on, but not when switched off, and in the clue, there are four clicks along with two spaces - another set of six things.

click... click... click, click

There has to be something more to go on. Everything is clearly waiting for 6 inputs. That is all I am able to discern. Game play seems well enough, weird that it stresses typing 'button 1' but then 'switch 1' isn't viable. As for the puzzle; is there another hint I'm just missing? If not, please add some! :-)

Updated:

- Added more ways to interact with the safe using your senses, such as tasting and smelling, to aid in making the first puzzle more intuitive.

- Added more ways to use the switches. New commands that will work are "use", "toggle", and "slide", and "use" will work on buttons as well. Toggle and slide are synonyms, and will change the state of the switch to the opposite of whatever it was before, without needing to specify on or off.

- Added descriptions for several non-critical objects like the fan and door hinges.

@AnonyPuss - I just loaded it up and tried "press button 1" and it appears to work just fine. As for the toggle switches, yeah it's a bit picky. "turn on/off" and "switch on/off" are the commands that work. If you know anything about Inform, they are just devices that have an on/off state, and "switch" is the basic command for those. Admittedly I could have also added some other verbs.

As for the hint, you could try touching and listening. I didn't add other commands. Honestly the very beginning is the most obscure part.

I cannot press button 1, it assumes I mean button 0 each time. And what verb works with the toggles? I tried SLIDE, MOVE, TOGGLE, USE and none were recognised.

Also, the help says "consider what information you might be able to gain from your other senses", and yet taste, smell and weigh failed to tellme anything. I would also like to be able to tap or knock on it.

@XanMag - Well, thanks for giving it a shot! Being the one who came up with the puzzles, it is rather difficult to tell how intuitive they are. There's not much I can tell you without outright posting the solution on here, besides referring you to the hints that you can get with the help command. The current hint will change based on how far you got.

I get to the panel and button pushing but have no clue beyond that...
