Shadow Realm by Jordan-Tanker
In this game, you take the place of either Frank or Sarah. Your only memory is your name. You know nothing of your past. The only thing that you can see is darkness. But it's a darkness that seems to have a life of it's own. What shadowy secrets does it hold? You find out when you wake up to see a man with bad breath and a dirty beard standing over you, rambling about you stealing his sheep.

Alright so, this would be my first time playing around with an interactive story. I think these things are actually alright. I'm not one to just sit down and read a book all the way through but I do enjoy reading and the interactive aspect of the stories really help the reader harness the imagination side of things. Beautifully written, not so complicated to read. It wasn't like reading a college textbook on microbiology. If only there were actually novels like this at the adult level, I might actually finish reading books.
By the way, I did die on my first attempt.

Hey, guys. Sorry it's late, but I'm almost done with Darkened Fate. I had a lot of stuff going on this Easter time, soooo.... Yeah. Sorry about that. But,I'd like to thank you guys for all the great feedback. I never expected to get this much from my first game. And to XanMag. Thanks for the extensive review. I have started on a Text Adventure, but I'm still learning the ropes of it, so it might be a while before it comes out. I'm thinking maybe a medieval setting in an abandoned town. But, yeah, I'll definitely play your game. Sounds pretty cool.
Tanks again for the feedback,

I played it through and ended up abruptly taken into court. Your writing is pretty good and I don't typically like gamebooks compared to text adventures. I like the feeling of "controlling" the outcome in TA's. My only critiques would be: somehow write the story to give the reader more of a feeling of control. I'm not sure what that would take because I haven't written a gamebook. But, your writing is good enough, I'm sure you can figure that out in part two if you choose to do so. Also, maybe have two or three or four options for every one of the reader's choices. Kind of drives my nutty when I can click only one thing at the bottom of a reading section. Even if the choices lead to the same/very similar outcomes. I think this will at least give the reader a better feeling that they had a say in the outcome other than simply clicking to proceed.
All in all, it is better than most of the unfortunate "game"books I've played on here. I actually read each section and my attention was kept. I will likely play the second installment just to see where you go with it. If I were to submit a review, I'd probably give it a 3.0-3.5 where most gamebooks I'd review at a 2.0-2.5. Maybe you should try your hand at a text adventure?
If you get a chance, play Xanadu - The World's Only Hope. It is part one of three, but it is a finished game and I would like some more feedback on it as I am also working on a second part.
Happy gaming!

I liked a lot! I can't wait for A Darkened Fate to come out, and in the time when I am writing this, Easter is coming quite soon now, so I WANT IT!!! Anyway, the only thing I can say about the game (constructive critisism) is that you use some words a lot of times on the same page, but that's it.
Conclusion, I LOVE IT AND I WANT MORE!

Hey guys. Jordan here. I hope you like this game. I know it's super short and not very descriptive, but I've already started working on the second one, and trust me - If you like this game, you'll love the sequel!
Please leave a comment telling me what you think about it, and any good ideas for some future games (but they all have to be kid appropriate).
