Not being able to put stuff back in the chest is not an error - it is done on purpose. It is so that you can not put any old object in there and then take something else out of the chest. You can only take 5 items and it checks how many items you have taken by how many items is left in the chest. So if you add any item in there again, it allows you to take something else - I understand you, in the sense that if you would like to exchange it for another item. All I can say is - choose carefully

Ps: With the help of all the people on the forum - I am sure you can make stuff like this too!

I hope to finish this title, but it is going slow. I just wanted to see if there is any interest first. After playing it again myself, I found a few spelling mistakes and a bug in the combat system - fixing that.

Just for everyone else: It will help a lot to go through the manual: http://forum.textadventures.co.uk/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=4075; since you can search rooms and look at rooms for a better game experience.

So far, I only had time to fix some bugs and add a 50% chance of an encounter on your way to Talan harbour with a check on one of the skills you could pick from the training manual. Also changing the battle script to green for your attacks and red for the enemy - makes it easier to follow.

Thanx again for the rating! It makes me want to finish this game now.
