“The time has come, my child, for you to take an active role in your family business. Our family has operated a delivery service for decades, always with the help of our children. Your uncle and I are getting a bit too old to be out there making the deliveries ourselves, so we’re pretty much stuck in our respective locations. …And seeing as how it’s been increasingly difficult to keep our couriers, uh…safe…we’re running low on staff.”
“So,” he says, handing you a tattered messenger bag, “Starting January 1, you will be a full time employee of Queen City Couriers. On commission.”
