“Fracking” is the nickname for hydraulic fracturing. Fracking refers to the process of creating fractures in rock/rock formations by injecting a fluid into their preexisting cracks, which expands the cracks into larger openings. The large openings allow more oil and gas to flow out of the formation and into the wellbore. A wellbore is a hole that is drilled to aid in the exploration and recovery of natural resources. The oil and gas in the wellbore are harvested. Fracking is happening NOW in North Carolina! It is up to you to be the change and stop unsafe fracking.
