I really liked the twist, I feel like if I were actually playing this as a video game, I would've felt for the character that I was playing. It's a really solid and interesting story, I just wish there was more to it. I would suggest keeping everything you have, but maybe spreading it out over the course of a few days and fill in the spaces with side tasks so you can have even more decision points for the player.

I feel that it might benefit you if you give the player the option to ignore the call again and perhaps link it directly to the scene where their house is broken into, just to give them the illusion of control. Otherwise, it was well written and thought out.

Excellent plot twists. However, I would recommend a "checkpoint" system so you don't have to restart from the very beginning if you make a mistake.
