E.g. If an entity is capable of rational thought and self-awareness, does it deserve equal rights? ...Do origins matter, among thinking beings? (I.e. whether one is conceived naturally, created by test tube, in-vitro fertilization, or other method, or otherwise “made”?) Apart from the obvious, what distinguishes “programming” from “instincts”?
